My first plane (of three) leaves in a couple hours, so I'm almost on my way!
A note about the name of the blog. Beyond the alliteration, there's also a pun: besides being a beautiful way to say 'Talk about,' bandy is also apparently a big winter sport in Hungary. It's basically hockey with a ball, played on a rink the size of a football field. Perhaps I'll watch a game at some point. And thanks to the lovely Anna Dardick for helping me come up with the name.
Anyways, I leave soon and get into Budapest at around 5pm local time on Monday. Then I have the rest of the day Monday and all day Tuesday off before classes start on Wednesday. That'll see me getting up bright and early to start learning Magyar (Hungarian), a language I know nothing about, other than it looks very difficult to pronounce. So, hopefully, I won't be too jet-lagged, because I don't have that much time to recover.
So that's all I have to say for now. To Budapest!
Will you be studying in English or Magyar?
ReplyDeleteIn English thankfully. I've learning some Magyar now, but I would a lot of time and practice before I could take any classes in it, let alone advanced math courses.
